Just like classes, assessments can be archived on Extempore. When you archive an assessment, it is given the tag “archived” and will only display if the “archived” box is checked on the filters menu above your list of assessments. By default, this box is not checked.

Archiving an assessment that has been graded and returned to the student will hide the feedback from students they would normally see in the Completed tab. Even if an assessment is archived, grades will always be viable to you in the Extempore gradebook and any other gradebook that is synched with Extempore.

For example, you might decide to archive the summative assessments from a previous unit or grading period to keep your class tidy and to hide the graded assessment from student view.

Follow the steps below to see how you can archive assessments.

How to Archive an Assessment

Navigate to your class page and select an assessment. Click on the three dots icon on the right hand side of the assessment bar, then click archive.

A pop up will appear asking you to confirm your selection. Click archive to finish and apply the archived tag to your class.

The assessment is no longer in your current class and has been moved to your account's archive.

How to Restore an Archived Assessment

Step 1: From your class page, find the assessment filter bar above your list of assessments. Uncheck all other tags, then check the box labeled Archived. All of your archived assessments will now display.

Step 2: Hover over the three dots icon with your mouse, then select Restore.

A popup will appear. Click Restore to confirm your selection. The assessment will no longer have the "archive" tag attached and will now be usable in your class.
