After using Extempore for a full school year or semester, you might want to clean up your account in preparation for new students. To do this, you can archive the class.Occasionally, classes or student data may also seem inaccessible due to changes in administrative updates or visibility settings. For example, during the transition between academic terms, certain adjustments made in your Learning Management System might temporarily hide class data.

Even though an archived class is removed from your class page, it is still accessible. Unlike deleted classes, archived classes can be restored back to your instructor account.Additionally, administrative updates during term changes or specific visibility settings may cause classes or data to appear missing temporarily.

All data including assessments, questions, submissions, grades, and feedback will be restored when a class is restored from the archive page.

How to restore an archived class

Even though an archived class is removed from your class page, it is still accessible. Unlike deleted classes, archived classes can be restored back to your instructor account.

Step 1: Navigate to the archived classes page from the dropdown menu on your username. Alternatively, click on your username or profile icon located at the top-right corner of the application interface to access archived content.

Step 2: Find the class you want to restore. Then click restore class.

Your class will be added back to your classes tab and gradebook. If your restored class or its assessments fail to display, consider verifying your filters, clearing browser cache, or testing with a different browser for potential compatibility issues. If the missing data involves unenrolled students, navigating to the class roster and enabling visibility of hidden or unenrolled students may help retrieve submissions, recordings, or other pertinent data.
