Sequential Mode

Sequential Mode prevents students from skipping ahead in an assessment. They must complete each question before moving to the next.

Written by Sam Slagle

Sequential Mode on Extempore forces students to answer every question in an assessment sequentially. When sequential mode is off, students return back to the question tiles and can select which question they want to answer next.

Enable Sequential Mode on Extempore

  1. Click on an assessment to edit it.

  2. Click yes next to Sequential Mode.

Students viewing an assessment in Sequential Mode

When sequential mode is on, students will see an outline of the questions and their parameters before they begin the assessment.

During the assessment, the student will see the current question number and how many questions remain at the top of the screen. The submit button displays as submit and next.
