How it works:

For LTI 1.3 teachers, there is one step you will need to take for each class that you plan to sync from your LMS to Extempore. By following these steps, you can expect to see each class in Extempore with a "LMS" icon indicating which ones are linked.

  • You are more than welcome to create a "Manually Created Class" on Extempore and start creating assessments which you can copy to your LMS linked classes at any point. You can look at manually created classes as a sandbox or folder to store assessments.

This is a one-time step that you will need to take for each class. This will allow the integration to connect students to each class and sync grades from Extempore to your LMS automatically.

Requirements:

  1. You already have an Extempore teacher account created

    1. If you don't have an Extempore account, please contact your organization admin to ensure the Extempore account you're creating is connected to your organization.

  2. Your organization has connected Extempore to your LMS

  3. If you're ready to continue, please select your LMS on the right to jump to the right section.

D2L Teachers

  1. Navigate to your class in D2L

  2. Select Extempore in the "Content Navigator"

  3. Open Extempore in a New Window

  4. You will be taken to Extempore to enter your username and password.

  5. You will be taken to Extempore where you will see a class with an "LMS" icon that indicates it connected to your LMS.

You can repeat this one-time step for each class that should be linked to Extempore. Next, you're ready to create Extempore assignments so that you can link assignments to your LMS for students to access.

Canvas Teachers

  1. Navigate to your class in Canvas

  2. Select "Extempore App" in the left nav

  3. Sign in to your Extempore account

  4. You will be taken to Extempore where you will see a class with an "LMS" icon that indicates it connected to your LMS.

You can repeat this one-time step for each class that should be linked to Extempore. Next, you're ready to create Extempore assignments so that you can link assignments to your LMS for students to access.
