Connect Extempore Account to Google for Single Sign-On (Students)

If you created your Extempore account without Google follow these steps to connect it now.

Connect your Google account for SSO

Step 1: Log in to your Extempore student account with your username and password. Forgot your password?

Step 2: Click your profile image in the top right of the screen and select My Account.

Step 3: Click the Account tab, then click Connect your Google Account.

  • Q: Why can't I log in with Google?

  • A: If you initially created your account without connecting to Google, you'll need to link your Google Account to your existing Extempore profile. Follow the steps outlined above to connect your accounts.

  • Q: What if I don't see the option to connect my Google Account?

  • A: Make sure you're logged into your Extempore Student Account and in the correct Account Settings section. If you still don't see the option, contact Extempore support for assistance.

  • Q: Can I use multiple Google Accounts with one Extempore account?

  • A: Currently, you can only connect one Google Account to your Extempore profile. Choose the Google Account you most commonly use for educational purposes.

  • Q: Will connecting my Google Account affect my existing Extempore data?

  • A: No, connecting your Google Account will not affect your existing Extempore data or assignments. It simply provides an additional login method.

  • Q: What should I do if I encounter errors while connecting my Google Account? A: If you experience any errors, try logging out of both Extempore and Google, clearing your browser cache, and attempting the process again. If issues persist, reach out to Extempore support.

  • Q: Why can't I log in using Google SSO on my school device?

  • A: If pop-ups are blocked by your school or district's policies, the SSO login window may not appear. Contact your school or district's IT department to allowlist Extempore and enable pop-ups for the site.
