The Shuffle button lets you quickly randomize student groupings in synchronous (sync) room assessments—saving time and giving you flexibility when managing groups.

What the Shuffle Button Does

  • Randomizes Groups: Reassigns students into new rooms with one click

  • Respects Absences: Students marked absent stay absent

  • Follows Room Settings: Distributes students based on your students per room configuration

  • Handles Odd Numbers: Rooms may be uneven if the total student count doesn’t divide evenly

How to Use the Shuffle Button

  1. Open your sync room assessment

  2. Go to Room Management

  3. Click Shuffle to randomize student groupings

  4. Review the updated rooms

  5. Click Save to confirm

Note: If you create a room with a single student, a confirmation pop-up will appear. Select OK to keep the one-student room.

Shuffle Function

  • Always distributes students based on your students per room setting

  • Creates new random groupings each time you click Shuffle

  • Maintains absent student status throughout the shuffle

Save Function

  • Retains current room assignments, including single-student rooms (after confirmation)

  • Preserves any manual adjustments you’ve made to groups

Benefits for Teachers

Time Saver: No need to manually reassign students
Quality of Life: Quickly generate fresh partner/group combinations
Flexibility: Shuffle as many times as you want before saving
Control: Review all groups before confirming changes

Important Notes

  • Shuffling only affects active (non-absent) students

  • You can shuffle multiple times before saving

  • Shuffle works with any existing sync room assessment

  • Once saved, new groupings are immediately visible to students
