Reports Overview

Extempore Reports provide educators a variety of tools to observe and track linguistic progress. The numerous views available allow stakeholders to view both individual and collective growth, while also highlighting areas where support may be needed. Likewise, these views can show proficiency across different layers, whether campus-wide or at the student level. With multiple visualizations and ways to take in program progress, administrators can respond to the numbers and make data-driven decisions that move their programs forward.

In the Reports tab, administrators can:

  • View usage and performance data

  • Filter by date range, assessment, campus, instructor, or class.

  • Toggle to see all assessments or only common assessments with one click.

  • Export data to Google Sheets, Excel, or as a .csv

  • Navigate through different views by clicking the icons in the left navigation menu.

If you are an administrator and do not see the Reports tab, please contact us so that we may give you access.

While administrators have access to all assessments submitted for their district, we know the power truly comes from the breakdown of common assessment data. There’s even a simple way to only show common assessments, removing any teacher-created assessments from view, allowing you to compare average scores, track progress against standards, identify students or groups who need additional support, and better predict learning outcomes.

The Reports tab contains numerous views divided into five sections:

  1. Dashboard

  2. Usage

  3. Performance

  4. List Downloads

  5. Gradebook Views

Pro Tips

  1. In order to have performance data in the Reports tab, there must be scored student submissions.

  2. Adopt and stick with a naming convention for common assessments. Short and descriptive assessment names based on class name, time, and assessment number will make it easy to find and reference later. Avoid generic names like Test 1.

  • SP1 Q1 CAW1 (Spanish 1 Quarter 1 Common Assessment Writing #1) = Good

  • Spanish Writing exam = Not good
