Admin: Connecting Your District's LMS or SIS to Extempore via EdLink

Step-by-step guide for LMS or SIS administrators connecting their district to Extempore through EdLink for the first time. Takes about 5 minutes.

Written by Sam Slagle

This article is for LMS or SIS administrators connecting their district's LMS to Extempore through EdLink for the first time.

EdLink is Extempore's integration partner. It securely connects your LMS or SIS to Extempore so classes, teachers, students, and related rostering information can sync without manual setup.

The setup usually takes about 5 minutes. Once the connection is complete, your work is done. Extempore will be notified automatically that the district has connected successfully.

Who should complete this setup

The person completing this setup must have the top-level administrator permissions for the district's LMS or SIS.

This usually means the person can approve third-party integrations, manage district-wide app access, or authorize data sharing from the LMS or SIS.

If you do not have that level of access, please send this article to the LMS or SIS administrator who does.

Before you begin

Make sure you have:

Connect your LMS or SIS to Extempore

  1. Select your LMS or SIS.

  2. Sign in using your LMS or SIS administrator account.

  3. Review the requested permissions.

  4. Approve the connection.

  5. Confirm that the connection was completed successfully.

That's it. Once the connection is complete, Extempore is automatically notified.

What happens next

After the connection is made, Extempore will work with you or whoever oversees the department who will be using Extempore to set sharing rules to only sync teachers, classes, and students that should have access.
