You can create both formative and summative assessments on Extempore in no time. Since formative assessments are not high-stakes, you will not activate the timer settings within the assessment parameters. Instead, create a basic prompt and assign it to your students!

This basic prompt will allow your students "multiple attempts" to complete the questions in your assessment.

Step 1: Navigate to the assessment creation screen.

Step 2: Once you fill in the rules for your assessment, you will click next to start adding questions.

  • NOTE: If you are adding parameters like "Limitations" make sure to select the option to "Allow Re-Record".

When your students record a response to your assignment, they will see a "Re-record" option.
