Adding an Assessment
Login to Extempore’s website using your username and password. On the Classes page, you may add a new assessment in one of two ways.
Option 1: Simply choose the Add Assessment button for the desired course.
Option 2: Choose the Edit Class link for the desired course to enter the course to add an assessment. From here, you can see your list of assessments and/or add a new assessment.
Whichever option you choose, you’ll be taken to the Add Assessment screen.
Creating the Assessment
When you click on the Create Assessment button, you’ll be taken to the Assessment page. Here you’ll create the assessment and parameters.
By default, the simplified view will be open. Here you’ll select the most basic parameters to an assessment. You can open more parameters by clicking on the Show all parameters link.
Step 1: Begin by naming the assessment. Remember that the assessment name will be visible to your students and should help them easily distinguish between assessments.
For example, “Unit 1 Quiz” would be an effective and clear title, one that enables students to clearly differentiate the assessment and place it into the chronological context of the course.
Step 2: Choose the start date and time and the due date and time.
Start Time | When your assignment will be available for students. |
Due Time | When your assignment is considered 'Late' *students can still submit after the Due Time. |
Step 3: Select type of assessment: Group or Individual
